Who we are

FirstSponsored ("we", "us") is an independent service providing job intelligence for international students and graduates on UK Student and Graduate Visas. We are not affiliated with the UK Home Office or GOV.UK. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.

What we collect

• Your email address, when you sign up, along with your explicit consent at the time of signup.
• Optional profile details you give us (field, visa stage, university, graduation month) to improve match quality.
• If you choose to reply to one of our emails with a CV or a link to your LinkedIn profile, we'll use that solely to find you better-matched roles.
• We use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how visitors use our site — including page views, general interactions, and session recordings that help us identify usability issues. This data is used only to improve the product and is not sold or shared for advertising purposes. You can read PostHog's own privacy practices at posthog.com/privacy.

How we use it

• To send you our weekly newsletter of matched, verified roles.
• To match roles against your field, visa stage, and (if provided) CV or LinkedIn profile.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the service.

We rely on your consent as the legal basis for sending you the newsletter, given explicitly at signup. You can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run FirstSponsored, each of whom processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms:

• Resend — sends our emails.
• Railway — hosts our database.
• Vercel — hosts our website.
• PostHog — product analytics and session recordings (EU-hosted).

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, they maintain their own appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) — see each provider's own privacy policy for details.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we'll remove it within 30 days, except where we're required to keep limited records for legal reasons.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). To exercise any of these, just email us — see below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service grows. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
